Semotus One-Way Gateway is an XML-based interface that allows applications to
route wireless messages from in-house systems over public wireless carrier networks
for distribution. The One-Way Gateway is a transport layer between existing
client systems, message sources and user devices.
All content is hosted by and remains with the Client. Semotus Solutions provides
a variety of interface options including an open XML protocol and PERL scripts
that deliver the messages and related information (e.g., devices to be notified,
network carrier, etc.) to the Semotus architecture for distrib
Features
The One-Way Gateway is an open interface that enables client systems and applications
with wireless capabilities. Key features include:
- Openness - the Gateway
is entirely open. Clients simply format messages to an XML protocol (or use
a variety of other interfaces including PERL scripts) to issue messages to
information devices
- Simple to implement -
since the Gateway provides a transport layer, it is typically a simple extension
to existing client systems and methods of operation
- Outsourced solution -
the One-Way Gateway is entirely operated and managed by Semotus Solutions.
Clients systems do not need to be extended to include the wireless interface.
This arrangement provides a rapid time to market for the enablement of adding
wireless delivery capabilities to in-house applications and business processes
- Simplicity -removes the
need to interface with and to support wireless network interfaces
